DGNB

The German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) is a non-profit organisation whose goal is to promote change in the building and property market, engendering an appropriate understanding of quality as a foundation for responsible and sustainable action.

DGNB certificate

To make sustainable building applicable on a practical level, measurable and thus comparable, the DGNB has developed its own certification system. The system was first introduced to the market in 2009.

Within the certification process, the entire lifecycle of a project is systematically taken into account and the overall performance of a project is assessed instead of individual measures.
